Mary Vavasour is an Auckland based Art Advisor offering comprehensive consultancy services to both private and corporate collectors in New Zealand and internationally.

With more than twenty five years’ experience, Mary’s background as Curator and Director of a public gallery as well as Director of two commercial galleries means that her approach is both art-historically informed and highly attuned to the market.  

 

All acquisitions are carefully researched – considered both in terms of the importance of the artwork within an artist’s body of work, as well as against recent auction results to verify the artwork’s market value.

Her long standing relationships with artists, dealer galleries, art institutions and auction houses gives her clients invaluable early access to artworks, and always with the utmost discretion.

 

Mary visits art fairs and travels regularly. She is able to access work internationally and place this within the New Zealand context to enhance the collections of her clients.
